Tandberg TR-2075

This is the Tandberg TR-2075 from Norway. It was built from 1975-1977 and retailed for $999.00. The Tandberg's unique styling with the large square push buttons and dark blue meter and dial lights make it easily identifiable. They are very well built receivers and have great FM tuning sections. Their phono section is a little weak though. There was also a later MK II model.

The TR-2075 put out 75 watts per channel  in to 8 ohms and had some interesting features such as:

  • Toroidal power transformer
  • 3 speaker outputs
  • 2 headphone jacks
  • A Mid tone control
  • 515 x 155 x 353 mm or 20.3 x 6.1 x 13.9 inches
  • 2 phono and 2 tape sections

You can see in this picture the large toroidal transformer that Tandberg used.

Tandberg receivers are fairly popular with collector's and audio enthusiasts - especially in Europe. Some models require DIN plugs which can be a little difficult to find.

  2. Hi,Wondering If Anyone Could Help Me, I Have A Tandburg TR2075 Acrylic case FM/AM Stereo Reciever Which Is Not In The Best Of Conditions And Could Probs Do With A Refurb But I Noticed There Aint That Many About. Anyway To The Point.. Can Anyone Tell Me More About Them As The One I Have Here Will Be Goin Up For Auction But I Have No Idea On What Its Worth. As Far As I Am Aware Everything On The Machine Works Exactly As It Should. Thanks In Advance Leon.

  3. I saw one sell in February of 2013 for $720 US. It was in very good condition and everything worked as it should. Another sold in Germany in September of 2012 for 384.00 euro and it was not working and sold as a “parts” machine. So, yours should fall somewhere inside that range.

  4. I have a functional unit for sale.
As far as I know everything works with the exception of a dead bulb in the middle of the tuner display.
    Please contact me if interested
