The Marantz 2275 had a retail price of nearly $600.00 back in 1974 and was made until 1977.  It put out 75 watts per channel in to 8 ohms and featured a phase-lock-loop FM multiplex demodulator. It also has direct coupled output amplifiers, a five gang tuner, Dolby FM and mid tone controls.  The 2275 used the WC-22 wood case as an option. Recent sales range from $500.00 to over $1500.00.

Marantz 2275 Ad

The Marantz 2275 was the focus of an interesting Marantz ad campaign that ran in Stereo Review.  The ad showed a burned 2275 that the owner claimed had been recovered from the charred remains of his home after a house fire. After replaceing the power cord the 2275 allegedly worked perfectly.  Of course, some anti-Marantz types began insinuating that it was actually the 2275 that started the fire in the first place.

  1. The 2275 is a legend. One of the very best audiophile grade vintage receivers on the market and a solid investment.
