The Marantz 2275 had a retail price of nearly $600.00 back in 1974 and was made until 1977. It put out 75 watts per channel in to 8 ohms and featured a phase-lock-loop FM multiplex demodulator. It also has direct coupled output amplifiers, a five gang tuner, Dolby FM and mid tone controls. The 2275 used the WC-22 wood case as an option.

The Marantz 2275 was the focus of an interesting Marantz ad campaign that ran in Stereo Review. The ad showed a burned 2270 that the owner claimed had been recovered from the charred remains of his home after a house fire. After replacing the power cord the 2270 allegedly worked perfectly. Of course, some anti-Marantz types began insinuating that it was actually the 2270 that started the fire in the first place.
There was no Marantz 2275b. You may have been thinking of the 2285 and the 2285b.

I bought a 2275 back in May 2020 on eBay from a vendor in Poland. Cost me around £700, if memory serves. Supposedly working properly, but turned out that there was distortion on the right channel. I then had my local service chap work his magic on it. The service cost me around £300, but boy was it worth it! And considering what they now go for on eBay, if you can find one…
It’s the heart of what I term my vintage set up, which comprises 1970s and 1980s equipment, and it is really good, with a great phono input.
Back in the 1970s, I had a Marantz 4270 quadradial receiver, which I bought new. Took it to Canada with me and then to Belfast, where I sold it to a friend. It was a great receiver, and I would imagine that the 2270 would be very similar, but obviously two channel only. Haven’t heard one though, so can’t compare to the 2275. I think the latter would be better though.
have a marantz 2275 receiver bought new in 1975 never used very much put back in original box brought it out last week to see if it still works and is working great cleaned controls with deoxitd5 the multipath hi blend one of the push buttons will not stay in does any one know what the problem could be
No problem at all. That button is not supposed to stay depressed. You hold it down while fine tuning with your antenna.
I gues that is Multipath button. I was told it is not supose to stay in. :)
I got me 2275 for my 60 birthday. As a kid I had amp 2 x 20 W. I don’t know the model.
I did some recaping and (sadly) shipping damge restoration. Nothing serious but… :(
Power board, phono pre, amp boards I like the sound so much. Previous Yamaha AVR 5.1 (stereo only) is realy not a mach.
